Flood-prone homes being demolished in Montgomery Co, Pa.

A dozen flood-prone homes along Sunny Brook Creek in Montgomery County are going to be torn down.

Chopper 6 HD flew over the houses on Hemlock Road in Flourtown Friday.

FEMA will provide more than $3 million for this "hazard mitigation" project as part of the recovery process from Hurricane Irene.

Officials say the area will become open space to restore the natural functions of the land.
