Man convicted in fatal shooting at Pa. barbershop

MEDIA, Pa. (AP) - March 19, 2013

The Delaware County Daily Times reports jurors reached the verdict Monday. They acquitted 28-year-old Sharif Wynn of first- and second-degree murder charges in the April 2012 shooting death of 35-year-old Michael Turner at the shop in Upper Darby.

The jury had deliberated into the night Friday and most of the day Monday.

Prosecutors argued Wynn went to Modern Hair Designs Barber Shop dressed in female Muslim garb and with the intention of robbing and killing Turner. But defense attorney Lawrence Krasner successfully argued Wynn only meant to intimidate Turner when the gun he was carrying accidentally went off.

A judge set sentencing for June 3.
