The (Easton) Express-Times reports that a jury convicted 43-year-old Andrew Gesslein II on Thursday. Gesslein was charged in the April 29 death of 23-year-old Michael Randolph at Allentown's North End Republican Club.
Gesslein said he fired in self-defense because he thought his life was in danger. Prosecution witnesses testified they heard the defendant being threatened, but said Gesslein fired as the victim and his companions were running way.
A judge says the Berks County resident can remain free on bail until his sentencing on June 11.
