The shooting occurred around 1:00 a.m. in the 4100 Parrish Street near Holly.
Officials told Action News that the young man in his 20's was walking when someone opened fire on him.
The victim then ran several blocks with a gunshot wound to the head to Lancaster Avenue where he collapsed.
Police picked the man up and rushed him to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania where he is listed in critical condition.
Police are investigating and searching for the gunman.
