The troopers were called to the Coach Outlet in Rehoboth Beach early Wednesday after the alarm went off. Police say the driver of a Mercedes Benz SUV leaving the shopping center refused to stop for troopers and took off at a high rate of speed on Route 1. When the SUV reached Milford, police say it hit a Ford Taurus, sending both vehicles spinning out of control.
Police say two people in the SUV fled on foot and the driver of the Ford was taken to Milford Memorial Hospital with injuries that are not thought to be life threatening.
