Police: Man, 64, dragged for two blocks in Strawberry Mansion

STRAWBERRY MANSION - April 13, 2014

The accident occurred at approximately 6:50 p.m. Saturday at 29th and Thompson streets.

Witnesses tell police a green mid-size SUV-type vehicle, possibly a Jeep Grand Cherokee or a Ford, with a female driver pulled up to the curb.

The driver had a short discussion with a pedestrian.

The driver then pulled away from the curb with the pedestrian still holding onto the side of the vehicle.

Police say the driver continued on 29th Street, dragging the pedestrian for approximately two city blocks before the victim fell off.

The driver then fled the scene.

The pedestrian suffered a fractured skull, a broken left leg, and left foot.

He was transported to Hahnemann Hospital where he is listed in serious condition.

Police continue to investigate.
