BALA CYNWYD, Pa. (WPVI) -- A woman is hospitalized after a vehicle went into the Schuylkill River in Montgomery County.
It happened just after 9 a.m. Tuesday in the 600 block of Righters Ferry Road in Bala Cynwyd, Pa.
A 77-year-old woman was pulled from the submerged vehicle by Lower Merion police officers and a Union Fire Company firefighter.
The woman is currently in critical condition at Lankenau Hospital.
The officers and firefighter who pulled the woman from the water are also at Lankenau Hospital to be checked out. They are expected to be released later Tuesday.
Chopper 6 was over the scene as rescuers on boats and in the water continued a search of the area.
The vehicle, which appears to be a silver SUV, could be seen under the water.
