Man shot walking home from work in West Philadelphia

WEST PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- The search is on for the gunman who shot a 52-year-old man who was on his way home from work in West Philadelphia.

The shooting happened on the 1200 block of North Alden Street.

Police say the victim got off of a bus at 56th and Market around 2:30 a.m. Sunday.

He was walking to his house when the shooter approached him, firing once into his chest.

The victim managed to walk to his nearby home and call 911.

The man is now hospitalized in critical condition.

There has been no word on any suspects or an arrest.
