SOUTH PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A police chase involving a stolen car ended in a fiery crash in South Philadelphia and two teenagers in the hospital.

The chase began in Tinicum Township, Delaware County and ended around 1 a.m. Wednesday on northbound I-95 at the Airport exit ramp in South Philadelphia.

It appeared the driver lost control and crashed into the concrete barrier.

The 16-year-old driver, who was not wearing a seat belt, suffered head injuries and cuts and burns to his wrist.

A 16-year-old passenger suffered facial cuts and bruises.

Both are in stable condition at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.

Police say the vehicle they were in was stolen, but have not released any further details.
