Gold African coin found in Salvation Army collection can

OMAHA, Neb. (AP) - November 29, 2007 Nebraska Salvation Army officials say someone dropped a South African gold Krugerrand coin into one of their red kettles outside a Kmart. The coin contains about a-quarter ounce of gold and is worth around $250. Salvation Army spokeswoman Susan Eustice says the volunteer counting the donations nearly fell off her chair. Eustice adds receiving the Krugerrand is a wonderful surprise.
