The search continues for the thief who drove off with two little children in a sports utility vehicle. The children and the vehicle were found more than two hours later.

The silver BMW SUV was stolen from the 33-hundred block of Baring Avenue in Mantua just before 7:00 Wednesday night.

Police said a woman had stopped at her sister's house in the block and left the vehicle running while she ran into the house. Her children, a three-year-old girl and a six-year-old boy, were still inside the vehicle.

When the woman came out, the vehicle and her children were gone. Police quickly issued an Amber Alert, while the children's father released photographs and made a plea for their safe return during a briefing with reporters.

"To whoever took my kids, all I want is my kids. You can have the car and whatever is in it. I just want my kids," said Nick Hionas.

Some workers at an adult book store at 61st and Passyunk Avenue spotted the vehicle around 9:30. They alerted a police officer who found the children in the back seat.

The girl named Kaliopi and the boy named George were not harmed, officials said. They were reunited with their parents shortly after being found.

Police have not released a description of the suspect who stole the vehicle.
