The compliance officer for a technology company has been sentenced to 15 months in prison for insider trading. ` Kevin Heron worked out of the West Chester office of Amkor Technology, where he served as general counsel. The publicly traded company packages semiconducters.

Federal prosecutors say the 49-year-old Heron sold Amkor stock and traded options before the company announced lowered earnings projections. They say he illegally made $42,000 through either gains or the avoidance of losses.

A defense lawyer did not immediately return a call for comment.
