Illness forces Faith Hill to cancel tribute

Hill's suffering from a bronchial infection. She said she flew to Los Angeles hoping she'd be able to sing anyway, but says she simply couldn't. She said she was "devastated and deeply disappointed." Hill was slated to perform at Friday's MusiCares tribute, which also included Fantasia, John Legend, Herbie Hancock, Shirley Caesar and the Blues Brothers.

The show was taped for broadcast on PBS. Hill says she hopes to "get the chance to be a part of something like this in the future." Franklin was honored as MusiCares Person of the Year, for her philanthropic work with children's organizations and churches and food banks in the Detroit area.
