2 PECO workers injured in explosion

2 PECO workers were injured in a circuit breaker explosion this morning. It happened at about 12:30 a.m. at the PECO sub station located at 11th and Hamilton Streets in Center City Philadelphia.

The workers were transported to Hahnemann Hospital where both are being treated for impact injuries to the face. Their injuries were not life threatening.

The sub station is one of PECO's larger power stations that carries about 20 percent of the power to Center City.

No customers were affected, and the workers are expected to be treated and released.
