Fumes force school evacuation

Belmont Elementary School in West Philadelphia was evacuated this morning because of fumes.

At least two people were sickened by fumes that investigators believe came from a science lab inside the school's new wing.

Administrators took the children outside starting at 10 a.m. and then allowed them back into the old wing of the school 30 minutes later.

The area around the science lab will remain closed until it can be thoroughly cleaned.
