Temple University says it will award full scholarships to four students from the Philadelphia School District each year for the next decade.Officials say the students must be city residents and attend a city school. They must be nominated by their school or by one of the district's community- or faith-based partners.

Each scholarship will be renewable for up to four years. The program starts next fall and will continue for the next 10 years.

Temple will award the scholarships on the basis of academic record, standardized test scores, community service and leadership experience, financial need, and proximity to Temple's main campus.
