Thirty-year-old Christopher Phillips was one of nine men indicted last year in a child pornography ring.
Phillips was accused of molesting an 8-year-old child while another man watched via a Web camera. Phillips claimed he only simulated touching the girl.
He apologized in court Wednesday. Defense attorney, Raymond Radulski said Phillips had been sexually abused as a child himself. Radulski said it was clear from Internet chat records that Phillips was being manipulated by the alleged ringleader, Paul Thielemann of Georgetown.
Thielemann received a 20-year sentence last month.
