AC Electric trims upcoming rate increase

Atlantic City Electric says its rate increase coming in June won't be as high as first expected. That's because of a fee adjustment by state regulators and credits from the sale of a generating facility.

The utility says the increase for an average residential customer will be about $1.25 a month, or less than 1 percent. Originally, the utility said bills could increase by more than $17 per month.

Atlantic City Electric provides electricity to more than 540,000 customers in southern New Jersey.
