A Delaware woman is behind bars after leading police on a two state high speed chase. Thirty-nine year old Lauri Mathewson of Avon Drive in Claymont is accused of driving while under the influence of drugs and endangering the welfare of a child.

Police say her 6 year old daughter was in the back seat the entire time.

Pennsylvania State Police began the chase southbound on I-95 in Delaware County.

The pursuit continued onto I-295 eastbound, then back westbound, on to I-495 northbound, and finally ended in the area of Edgemoor Road.

Mathewson's daughter was not injured, and is now in the care of a family member.

Police say they found marijuana and counterfeit cocaine in Mathewson's car. BODY TEXT
