Diamond rings taken from Del. jewelry store

TALLEYVILLE, Del. (AP) - October 29, 2008 Police say both rings were valued at $44,000.

According to police, the theft occurred about 5:20 p.m. Oct. 15 after a man asked a clerk if he could place the rings on his finger and take a picture with his cell phone so he could send the picture to his fiancee. Once he had the rings in his hand, the man fled the store.

Troopers have released a surveillance camera image of the man. He's described as white, about 25-to-35 years old and about 5-feet-8-inches tall.
