Astros claim Phillies' Coste off waivers

The Houston Astros have claimed backup catcher Chris Coste off waivers from the Philadelphia Phillies.

The Astros made the move Friday. The 36-year-old Coste will join his new team Saturday.

Coste hit .245 with two home runs and eight RBIs in 45 games for the Phillies this season.

Coste made 98 starts for the Phillies last year, hitting .263 with nine homers and 36 RBIs. He played in the World Series as Philadelphia beat Tampa Bay for the championship.
