Happ staying put in Phillies' rotation

Phillies general manager Ruben Amaro Jr. says J.A. Happ won't go to the bullpen to make room for Pedro Martinez. Happ has been Philadelphia's most consistent pitcher this season. The Phillies, however, soon will have six starters once Martinez comes off the disabled list.

Happ tossed a four-hitter against Colorado and struck out 10 for his second career shutout Wednesday night. The rookie left-hander is 8-2 with a 2.74 ERA in 26 games. He's 6-2 with a 2.80 ERA in 14 games as a starter. Happ began the season in the bullpen before replacing an ineffective Chan Ho Park.
