The Dauphin County coroner says Gary Jackson suffered asphyxiation. His death has been ruled an accident.
Jackson's body was found pinned against a wall in a stairwell of the Harrisburg home around 10 p.m. Monday.
His brother and another man had become worried after not seeing him for several days and called 911.
On Saturday, Jackson had been helping to clean out the home for its owner, Stanley Lawson, who is thinking of selling it.
Officials say Jackson later went back to the house, possibly to pick up the refrigerator - which Lawson said he could have.
