Five charged in attempted kidnapping

HOUSTON, Del. - November 24, 2009

Michael Kopp, 29, Andrew J. Siko, 20, Dennis E. Foskey, Jr., 26, Amanda A. Alevato, 32, and a 15-Year Old male from Harrington, Delaware are facing a number of charges.

At approximately 6:25 p.m. on Monday, Delaware State Police were called to the unit block of Sunset Avenue for a possible home invasion.

According to police, 32-year-old Russell A. Griffin (pictured above, bottom right), of the 1800 block of Butler Avenue, conspired with the other five suspects against the alleged victim. Griffin claimed that the 34-year-old victim was responsible for sexually assaulting his girlfriend.

Griffin hatched a plan with the help of 30-year-old Amanda A. Alevato, of the 500 Block of NE 5th Street in Milford. Alevato would lure the victim out of his home. Once out of the home, the male suspects would grab the victim and bring him to Griffin.

The victim agreed to meet Alevato, so she drove to his home. The remaining suspects followed her to the residence and hid on the property. The victim exited the home, intending to speak with Alevato. That's when he observed two white males approaching with baseball bats. The victim fled back into the residence.

One of the suspects kicked in a side door, prompting the victim to flee out of the rear of the residence. He was confronted by the four male suspects. An unknown roommate also fled the residence on foot and contacted 911 and an off-duty police officer who resides in the area.

The victim was bound and as they started to escort the victim to a nearby vehicle an off-duty police officer ordered them to the ground. One of the suspects, identified as Mr. Dennis Foskey, Jr., 26, fled on foot. Foskey ran to the car and attempted flee, but was taken into custody by an assisting officer.

All five defendants were charged with the following crimes:

  • Kidnapping 1st Degree (Felony)
  • Possession of Deadly Weapon During Commission of a Felony (Felony)
  • Conspiracy 2nd Degree (Felony)
  • Criminal Trespass (Misdemeanor)
Foskey, Siko, Kopp, and Alevato were all issued a $41,250.00 secure bond. The juvenile involved in the incident was issued a $10,750 unsecure bond.
