Police shut down club after gunfire

NORTH PHILADELPHIA - November 28, 2009

Hundreds of teens congregated inside and outside a nightclub on the 900 block of North Watts Street Friday night in North Philadelphia.

At around 11:30 p.m., police say one of the teens became angry, pulled out a gun, and fired at least five shots at The Third Rail Restaurant and Nightclub.

Police soon arrived at the club and officials say they were met with large crowds of unruly teens forcing additional officers to be called in.

Police eventually got control of the scene and closed down the club.

License and Inspections is investigating.

No injuries were reported nor is there any word on arrests.
