35-year-old Paul Griffith was detained Friday night on narcotics offenses.
A Gloucester city police officer was transporting him to the Camden County jail when Griffith escaped.
Despite being in handcuffs, Griffith allegedly punched out a window in the police car, crawled out the window, then took off.
He escaped at 5th and Mickel Bouelvard.
Griffith is now in Camden County jail.
