At 5:00 a.m. they woke up to find three men with guns inside the house.
"They came in through the second floor window, in the bathroom I believe and they came downstairs with guns and just tried to get money and drugs," said Kevin Lonergan Senior.
"They just asked Kevin for some pills that they supposedly thought he was selling during the day," said Dorrice O'Brien, Kevin's fiancé.
Kevin got into a struggle with one of the men.
"I heard one shot and then Kevin threw a vacuum through the window to I guess get attention, he threw the vacuum through the window and then I heard a second shot and that's when I heard Kevin scream," Dorrice said.
Kevin was shot in the pelvis and later died at the hospital.
The men got away with some jewelry.
Kevin's father says he can't believe his son's killers are still walking the streets.
"How can you live with yourself, how can you live with yourself."
There is a $1,000 reward for anyone with information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible.
