After 11-year dispute, revolution museum coming to Philly

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - September 10, 2010

An agreement is being signed Friday under which the Park Service will hand over a spot near Philadelphia's Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell to the American Revolution Center.

In exchange, the Revolution Center will turn over to the National Park Service a parcel of private land it owns at Valley Forge.

The land swap marks the conclusion of years of lawsuits and zoning disputes over the American Revolution Center's original plans. Those were to build the museum within Valley Forge Historic National Park, about 20 miles outside Philadelphia.
