"We have several openings from senior level staff all the way down to regular production," company Human Resources Manager Janice Melzer said.
About 270 people work at the plant on Lapeer's east side. While the recession was taking a toll on many automotive suppliers, Melzer says Mold Masters was repositioning itself. "We've actually done very well through these hard economic times, and we are currently in the process of launching three new automobile programs. We're trying to build the staff up to support these builds."
Specifically, Mold Masters, which is not unionized, is looking for a sales and engineering manager, a quality engineer, quality control inspectors and production supervisors.
Who should apply?
"Anybody who feels they are qualified - automotive experience background, obviously in our economy. There's a lot of people out there that were in automotive still looking for work," Melzer said.
While the first round of hiring will be mainly for management and skilled trades, more job openings could be posted in several weeks. "After the first of the year, we will start bringing in some more production people to help with the programs as the start to launch," Melzer said.
These are not temporary jobs. "These are long-term positions. We've already brought up four individuals in the salary aspect that were long-term hires," said Melzer.
