Woman claims to have seen missing boys

SANDUSKY, Ohio A woman in Sandusky, Ohio claims she may have seen Andrew, Alexander and Tanner Skelton a week ago Saturday. She says three boys who match their descriptions came into the donut shop where she works. She says the boys were accompanied by a woman.

Sandy Jones claims she saw the boys at the House of Donuts in Sandusky. "I said, 'Stephanie. These little boys, I swear were in the donut shop.'" Jones works at the House of Donuts.

"She was about 5-5, 5-6. She looked like she was in her 40s. She looked very tired and haggard. She had dark hair that looked like it had just been dyed," Jones said.

"To me, no news is good news, so. And I feel like they will eventually find the boys, I do," Morenci resident Miranda Gilbert said.

The boys were last seen in Morenci on Thanksgiving day. Their father, John Skelton, told police he gave the boys to a woman named Joann Taylor. He claims he met her on the Internet, but investigators don't believe there is a woman involved at all.

Search efforts have focused on woods, fields and ponds.

Jones explained that she didn't know about the search until the following Monday. She later called police, and her story is enough to stir up talk at Borchardt Brothers Market, nearly 100 miles away.

"I really think that they are still alive. I do. I mean, because they haven't found them, and they searched for, what, a week?" said Morenci resident Peg Fry.

Some are still waiting for answers from their father, John Skelton, who has been charged with three counts of parental kidnapping and awaits extradition to Michigan from the Lucas County Jail.

"Those are my daughter's cousins and it breaks my heart to know that their dad wouldn't do anything or say where they're at. And I pray to God that it's them kids and they come home," said Morenci resident Sondra Smith.

Jones says she did not get a make of vehicle or license plate, and the House of Donuts doesn't have a video security system.

A reward of $10,000 is still offered to anyone who can help locate the boys. If you have information about this case, call 517-458-7104.
