Furball is a 4-year-old female Lionhead Rabbit. She was brought into TAHS because her owner was allergic to her. Lionheads are known for their unique head of hair. They have a long mane, which gives the impression that they are wearing a wig.
Furball is a curious rabbit. He likes to get into boxes and hop through large cardboard tunnels. He doesn't need a bunch of expensive toys to keep him happy. You can build him a maze of cardboard boxes and he will have the time of his life. Furball enjoys snacks of kale, carrots and apple slices. Furball is not a cuddly pet that will want to be picked up, but her curious nature makes her fun to watch as she explores the different things that she stumbles across while hopping around.
Just a reminder that the Love A Shelter Animal Class is Saturday, Feb. 19 from 10am to 11:30am. If you are interested in joining the class you can still gain entry. The program is for children ages 7-11 and the cost is $20.00.
March Education Program:
If you won't have a chance to attend today's program, you'll have another opportunity to spend time with some of the Humane Society's furry residents during our next after school program, Pets and Me.
This one hour program meets once a week for 5 weeks and gives children a chance to learn about what we do at the Toledo Area Humane Society. Children will get a tour of the Humane Society, play games while learning about different dog breeds, learn how to make homemade dog treats and cat toys, try to indentify some of the unusual things found in the gross out box, and of course, spend time with some of our adoptable animals.
