Free local gas cap testing

Toledo, OH Last summer more than 11% of vehicles in northwest Ohio leaked gas. In effort to reduce these numbers, the Toledo Metropolitan Area Council of Governments and the City of Toledo invites drivers to test their gas caps. Throughout the summer drivers from Lucas and Wood County can head to testing sites to make sure their gas caps are secure.

The compression test only takes a few seconds and most leaky or missing caps can be replaced on the spot at no cost. A leaking or missing gas cap adds to air pollution and may cost drivers up to two tanks of gas a year.
