1 dead, 4 injured in head-on Bucks Co. crash

NEW BRITAIN, Pa. - September 2, 2011

The crash occurred at 1720 Upper State Road at 10:55 a.m. Friday.

Police say the man killed was driving with his wife and a 4-year-old child when his car was struck head-on by a Ford Crown Victoria.

Investigators say the driver of the Crown Victoria, a man in his 30s, was distracted and swerved into the opposite lane.

The 70-year-old man was pronounced dead at Abington Hospital. His wife is in critical condition while the 4-year-old escaped unharmed.

The driver of the Crown Victoria, who has not yet been identified, was in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries. A 4-year-old was also in that car - that child was at Children's Hospital in good condition.

Police say the crash does not involved alcohol or drugs.

An investigation continues.
