NEW CASTLE, Del. - November 7, 2011

It happened around 8:30 p.m. Sunday at the Superlodge Motel, on the 1200 block of West Avenue.

A 41-year-old male and 24-year-old female were both left injured from the incident.

Police say 20-year-old Tyree Lee and 22-year-old Nialeva S. Titus knocked on the motel room door asking about tattoos that the male victim was known to provide.

The duo then forced themselves inside, and Lee struck the male victim in the head while Titus slammed the female victim into a headboard.

A violent struggle ensued.

The male victim retrieved a pocketknife from his pants pocket, stabbing Lee in the chest.

Lee was left severely injured in the struggle, while Titus, his accomplice, left the room empty handed and fled the scene.

Titus was later apprehended and arrested by police.

Lee was transported to Christiana Hospital Trauma Center where he is listed in critical/stable condition.

The female victim suffered a stab wound during the struggle as well and remains in serious condition at an area hospital.
