Diesel spills after South Phila. train derailment

SOUTH PHILADELPHIA - January 13, 2012

Firefighters and CSX crews were called to the area of 11st Street and Terminal Avenue around 7:30 a.m. where they found three train cars had derailed.

The derailment caused about 27 gallons of fuel to spill.

The CSX cleanup team was able to cap the leak and more crews were called in to help unload the rest of the fuel.

There were no injuries reported.

There was no immediate word on what led to the derailment.
