Michael Ritacco pleaded guilty to public corruption and tax evasion charges.
Federal prosecutors claimed the former Toms River Regional Schools Superintendent accepted between one and two million dollars in cash and gifts from the district's insurance broker.
Ritacco could face up to 14 years in prison.
Sentencing is set for July 12.
