Truck hits beer distributor in Pa. crash

WEST AMITY TWP., Pa. - August 9, 2012

The crash happened around 5:15 a.m. at Routes 662 and 422 West in Amity Twp.

An SUV traveling south on Route 662 stopped for the red light at Route 422 westbound, but then went through the light and into the path of the tractor trailer, police said.

The tractor trailer struck the front of the SUV, went up on the curb at the Car Smart dealership and struck a Ford F150 and an Audi A4, which were for sale on the lot.

The truck continued on, going through the wall of the 1st Stop Beverage building.

The drivers of both the tractor trailer and the SUV suffered minor injuries, police said.

The tractor trailer damaged several soda machines, a large ice box and numerous cases of beer, police said.

Township codes will have to determine if the building is still structurally sound to reopen for business.
