State Police on hand at Concord High School after threat

WILMINGTON, Del. - October 7, 2013

The school opened as usual Monday, but students' bags were being searched as they arrived.

The Brandywine School District said officials learned of threatening and offensive messages posted on the social learning platform, Edmodo.

Investigators said the threat originated somewhere in the southern United States. They added they take every threat very seriously.

Parents who wanted to keep their children home were told to send a note explaining the absence.
