Pa. police chief denies sexual contact with teen

SCRANTON, Pa. - October 22, 2013

Suspended Old Forge police chief Larry Semenza is charged in Lackawanna County with indecent assault, unlawful contact with a minor and corruption of a minor.

He testified Monday that he acted as a mentor to the girl but there was no sexual contact. His attorney has suggested that the alleged victim was infatuated with Semenza and upset that he didn't feel the same way.

Prosecutors allege that Semenza and former police captain Jamie Krenitsky assaulted the girl beginning in 2004 when she was 15 and a junior firefighter. Krenitsky and a former borough firefighter have pleaded guilty to misdemeanor indecent assault.
