Lower Merion teen missing, car found in Northern Liberties

LOWER MERION TWP, Pa. (WPVI) -- Police are searching for a missing Lower Merion Township teenager whose car was found in the Northern Liberties section of Philadelphia.



Lower Merion police confirm a car belonging to 17-year-old Austin Wylie of Haverford was found Wednesday at 5th and Spring Garden streets.



Both the Philadelphia Police Department and Lower Merion Police Department are involved in the investigation, however, it is not clear where the teen went missing.



His picture has been shared multiple times over various social media platforms as friends try to locate him.



Wylie is a student and soccer player at the Shipley School in Bryn Mawr.



A spokesperson with the school tells Action News they are aware of the situation and hope for his safe return.



According to PA Prep Live, Wylie was a member of the 2015 All-Main Line boys' soccer squad in 2015.



The website says, Wylie was "the Friends' Schools League MVP, was all-state and All-Southeastern PA."
