Residents, pets escape Bensalem fire

BENSALEM, Pa. (WPVI) -- Two people and two pets were able to escape an early morning fire in Bensalem, Bucks County.



The fire broke out around 5:20 a.m. Sunday on the 3700 block of Meridian Drive.



Arriving crews were met with flames coming from the back and through the roof of the home.



One person was being treated at the scene for smoke inhalation.



Officials say a fire alarm was activated.



There is no word on a cause.
