PHILADELPHIA -- Legendary Philadelphia broadcaster Bill Campbell has died at the age of 91, Action News has learned.
Campbell announced games for both the Philadelphia Phillies (1962-1971) and the Philadelphia Eagles, (1952-1966), including the 1960 NFL Championship game.
Among his many notable achievements, Campbell was the play-by-play man for Wilt Chamberlain's 100 point game in Hershey, Pennsylvania in 1962.
He also worked for various radio and television stations in the area.
Campbell was named Broadcaster of the Year by the National Sports Broadcasters Association in 1961, 1962 and 1963.
He was inducted in the Broadcast Pioneers Hall of Fame in 1999.
