Gatlinburg, Tenn. -- A Lexington, Ky., woman who had planned to trade in her car, instead gave it to a family who lost everything in last week's Tennessee wildfires.
"They said, 'You don't want to trade it?' I said, 'No, I'm taking it to Gatlinburg, giving it to a family,'" Jenny Blanton told WATE-TV.
It was a gift that didn't need to be opened, but rather signed over.
This week, she signed a few pieces of paper to make it official.
Greg Pelc, of Gatlinburg, is the car's new owner.
Blanton hopes the donation inspires others to do good.
The Pelc family said they are unbelievably grateful for those who've worked to change a nightmare into a dream.
"Jenny is an angel of hope," Pelc said.
The family promised free rides to anyone in Sevier County displaced by the fire.
