Police say a 4-year-old boy was struck by a car in Camden.

CAMDEN, N.J. (WPVI) -- Police say a 4-year-old boy is in critical condition after he was struck by a car in Camden.



The accident happened around 1:00 p.m. on the 1600 block of Pine Street.



Medics took the child to Cooper Hospital in critical condition.



Police believe the child may have ran between two parked cars and into the street.



Sources tell Action News there was a 'fun day' event for children in the neighborhood near Forest Hill Elementary School.



It's not clear if the young victim was at the event.



Authorities say the vehicle did remain at the accident scene and charges will likely not be filed.



Police continue to investigate.
