Family of Delaware college student pleads for help finding killer

MINQUADALE, Del. (WPVI) -- A plea for justice came Wednesday from the family of a Delaware college student gunned down on his way to work.

19-year-old Malcolm Evans was shot to death around 4 a.m. on July 9th as he was making his way to FedEx. The killer remains on the loose.

"My name is Terry Evans. Malcolm Evans was a loving, beautiful, sweet, humble son. I just can't tell you the hole we have in our hearts," Malcolm's mother Terry Evans said.

Malcolm's father Kevin says he was a student at Delaware State University in Dover and his goal was to become a doctor.

Malcolm was a listed organ donor and saved four people after his death. His kidneys, liver, and heart were all donated.

"He wanted to be a doctor and the way that we look at this is he saved four lives at one time," Kevin Evans said.

It's been 11 days since Malcolm's parents were told their son was killed randomly on a Saturday morning.

"I miss him dearly and j just can't believe one of my beautiful sons will not be with us anymore," Terry Evans said.

Detectives say Malcolm's car was found crashed off the road in 600 block of Country Path Drive in Rutledge.

Detectives discovered a single shot was fired into his car, striking the teen in the chest.

He died later that day in a hospital.

"I'm cried out and now I just need for the public to focus on getting this person off the streets," Terry Evans said.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police.

"We're trying our best Malcolm and we're trying to find justice we love you and we miss you," Malcolm's brother Miles Evans said.
