BENSALEM, Pa. -- Police have identified the motorist killed in a crash that has shut down Street Road at State Road in Bensalem, Bucks County.
23-year-old Michael Baronofsky of Croydon, Pa. was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said Baronofsky was traveling south on State Road at 7:00 a.m. Monday when his Honda Civic collided head-on with tractor trailer traveling north on State.
The truck was making a left hand turn onto Street Road when the collision happened, police said.
The driver of the tractor trailer was not injured in the crash and was cooperating with investigators.
Images from Chopper 6 HD shown on Action News at 7:55 a.m. showed the Honda with significant front-end damage stopped in the middle of the intersection along with the tractor-trailer.
Police tell Action News while the cause of the accident remains under investigation, drugs and alcohol do not appear to have been a factor.
