Serious crash in Southwest Philadelphia

SOUTHWEST PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- First responders were on the scene of a serious crash in Southwest Philadelphia.

It happened before 6:30 a.m. Thursday at 58th Street and Florence Avenue.

Video from Chopper 6 HD showed two vehicles which appear to have collided and crashed into a chain link fence.

One, an SUV, was up on a sidewalk. Both had significant front-end damage.

Multiple firefighting units were on the scene, and first responders appeared to be extricating someone from one of the vehicles.

There was no immediate word on the number or extent of injuries, or what led to the crash.

Traffic was being detoured around the area.
