Crime Fighters: The unsolved murder of Emilio Quintana

KENSINGTON (WPVI) -- A grieving sister is appealing for help in finding her brother's killer.

"My brother was very loved in the community. He had no enemies. All the kids loved him. I don't understand how this happened," said Wilma Martinez.

Martinez is talking about her brother's death on Monday September 28th, 2015.

At about 11:15 p.m. police were called for the report of a shooting along the 2800 block of Mutter Street in Philadelphia's Kensington section. That's where they found 40-year-old Emilio Quintana suffering from gunshot wounds to the back.

They rushed him to the hospital in critical condition. Unfortunately, he died the next day.

Martinez says, "They say it was a robbery, which I know and they know that it wasn't a robbery. My brother had all his stuff on him."

Martinez feels Quintana's death was somehow drug related.

She tells us, "It's a turf war out there."

The City of Philadelphia is offering up to $20,000 in reward money for the arrest and conviction of those responsible. All you have to do is call the Citizens Crime Commission at 215-546-TIPS. All calls will remain anonymous.

Martinez asks, "If that was to happen to you, wouldn't you want somebody to speak up?"

She says despite a year having gone by her family still feels the loss deeply.

"I'm never going to forgive. I'm never going to heal. That was my baby brother. That was my everything," Martinez said.
