NEWARK, Del. (WPVI) -- Delaware State Police have made an arrest in connection with a shooting in New Castle that left a 28-year-old man hospitalized.



25-year-old Kenneth Holmes is charged with attempted murder and weapons offenses.



The shooting happened after Holmes and the victim got into a physical altercation around 1 a.m. Wednesday at the Star Shopping Center on the 3100 block of New Castle Avenue.



Police say Holmes left after the argument, then returned a short time later with a handgun.



He then allegedly shot the victim, who was sitting in the passenger seat of a car, in the head.



The victim was rushed to an area hospital in critical condition.



Holmes is now behind bars, being held in lieu of $1 million bail.
