MEDIA, Pa. (WPVI) -- Delaware County investigators say a drug dealing doctor is off the streets.

Only Action News was there as police transported Dr. Lawrence Wean to the district justice to face charges. Investigators claim he wasn't using his office to practice medicine. He was using it to sell prescriptions.

Investigators raided Wean's home as well as his practice on Baltimore Pike, not far from the Delaware County courthouse where he was taken.

Dr. Wean is accused of running a pill mill - writing prescriptions for painkillers, sleeping pills, attention deficit drugs, and anxiety medication.

According to sources, Dr. Wean would charge $200 to $300 and write a prescription - no questions asked.

The 60-year-old has been practicing medicine for 27 years.

On the medical website vitals.com Dr. Wean is the recipient of scathing reviews - many which detail the alleged operation.

In one review a person writes: "One of my closest and oldest friends has died because of your little side business of RX. I look forward to the day you get caught."

Another says: "He is nothing but a drug dealer and should have his license revoked."

Delaware County District Attorney Jack Whelan says, "Our narcotics task force not only looks at targeting drug dealers that are on street corners, but we also attack those drug dealers that are wearing white coats."

Investigators built their case through undercover buys by the county's Narcotics Task Force and Insurance Fraud Unit. The DEA and Independence Blue Cross assisted in the investigation.

As Dr. Wean was taken to a district justice to face charges he denied the allegations, saying, "This is all wrong, all wrong."

When asked if he feels responsible for fueling the addictions of some of those he allegedly sold pills to, Wean said, "No. I'm a good doc."

Wean faces insurance fraud and other related charges.
